Greetings Lakemont Leopards!

Dear Parents:

We would like to welcome our Lakemont Leopards to the 2018-2019 school year.  Our theme for this year is, “PAWSitively Wild About Learning”.  We welcome back all of our Lakemont Leopards to another great year!

School hours this year are the same as last year:   8:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. every day except Wednesday, when the students are dismissed at 2:10 p.m.  The first bell to enter the classrooms will be at 8:40 a.m.   Our staggered dismissal will be as follows:

2:55 p.m. -                   Patrols

2:55 p.m. – 3:05p.m.   Bus Riders as busses arrive

3:00 p.m. -                   All Walkers, Bike Riders and Car Riders

3:05 p.m. -                   Extended Day students

We have planned a New Student Orientation for all new students to Lakemont (Kindergarten through Fifth Grade).  It will be held in the school cafeteria on July 31, 2018 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.  This Orientation is for students and parents, so we encourage you to bring your child to this event.  We will have a brief overview time highlighting some important school information, and then we will rotate through informational stations and visit a classroom.  Our teachers will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.  If you plan on attending, please call Dr. Gjini, our Assistant Principal, at 407-623-1453 x3542235 so we can better plan.

We are trying to improve our Customer Service and Communication with parents, so we will continue utilizing a variety of online and phone networks.  In order for this to be successful, we need all parents to give our school their email addresses.  We will be communicating school news through DOJO, an online email service, which means we will only utilize our telephone call system for emergencies only.  Please make sure we have your current telephone numbers, because we will need them for emergencies and bad weather (30/30 rule) communication.

Our “Meet the Teacher” will occur on Friday, August 10, 2018, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. for KINDERGARTEN – FIFTH GRADE students.  This occasion is planned to provide students and parents a time to become familiar with your teacher and classroom.  It is recommended that your student bring in his/her supplies on “Meet the Teacher” day instead of the first day of school.  For those parents new to the school, the PTO has planned a “Kindergarten Boo-Hoo Breakfast” in the school media center on August 13, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.

Sincerely,

Mr. Karl Fox
