Arrival Policy

• No cars will be allowed in the bus loop at 8:15am except those with special car passes for students in our ASD Classes.
• Extended day students are released from the cafeteria at 8:15am. If you arrive after 8:15am, you will need to use the car loop. 
• Cars in the car loop are double stacked in order to keep the traffic flow moving off of N. Phelps Ave, as much as possible.
• School hours are 8:45am – 3:00pm (2:00 pm Wednesdays). Students should not arrive at school prior to 8:15am unless enrolled in Extended Day. Upon arrival, they should go to breakfast or their assigned area until the bell rings.

Drop-off and pickup procedures require entry from N. Phelps Ave, there is no entry via N. Lakemont Ave between 8:00am – 9:15am and 2:00pm – 3:30pm (1:30pm on Wednesdays). Please refer to the diagram below.

Dismissal Policy

• Walkers and bike riders will be dismissed via announcement over the PA system.
• Car riders and Extended Day will be dismissed with the 3:00pm bell. Please encourage students to go directly to the car area.
• All bus riders will report to the cafeteria.
• Dismissal during school hours is discouraged. A written note sent on the morning of early dismissal stating the reason and time is requested. Picture identification will be required before a student is released to an adult. Teachers will not release students from the classroom to any person. 
• The closing of each school day is a very important time for students. Assignments are reviewed, reminders are shared, and information is clarified. We will not interrupt the classroom to dismiss a child after 2:30pm (1:30pm on Wednesdays), unless a note has been sent in that morning or if it is an emergency.
• Children will only be released to authorized adults. If you wish for the school to release your children to adults other than parents or guardians, their names must be listed on the emergency information card. We will not change the way a child is to go home by means of a telephone call. You must send a note in the morning if a change is necessary.

Parking Policy

• Parking is located on the left side of school building next to the bus loop and limited spots are available in the front of the building.
• For the safety of our students and staff, all visitors must enter through the front of the building.
• If you are checking a student out of school, please bring appropriate ID.

Tardy Policy

Students are tardy if they are not in class at the beginning of the school day.

• All tardies are considered to be unexcused and are recorded electronically.
• For truancy purposes, five tardies to school equal one unexcused absence. However, this is for referral purposes, and the electronic record is not to be altered. Tardies remain recorded as tardies in the electronic record.
